SNOW SCENES
 |
Using the small or medium pattern, cut 3 - 5 houses for your
child out of black construction paper. |
|
Have her glue the houses on the bottom of a piece of blue
paper. |
|
Set out some white tempera paint and a small brush..
|
|
Have your child paint the ground and the roof tops of the
houses with white paint, to resemble snow. |
|
You can also show her how to tap or flick her brush and make
white spatters to resemble falling snow.

BUILD
A HOUSE
 |
Using the large pattern, cut out a house for your child in
whatever color he prefers. |
|
Next, set out some paper strips approximately, 2" wide,
plus a pair of child scissors. |
|
Using the strips, have your child cut out windows and doors
for his house. |
|
Green strips of paper can be fringed to make grass. |
|
Have your child glue his house and the grass onto a larger
piece of paper to make a house picture. |
|
He could also create a chimney for his house and add a stretched
out cotton ball (to resemble smoke) to his picture with some
glue. |

WOODEN HOUSE
 |
Using the large pattern, cut a house out for your child using
a piece of cardboard (light or heavy). |
|
Set out some craft sticks (plain or colored) and some glue
in a bowl with a brush. |
|
Have your child spread glue across her house. |
|
Then, have her place craft sticks all over the house shape
to create a wooden house. |
COLORED
HOUSES (A felt board activity)
 |
Using the medium pattern, cut out 4-5 houses from felt,
each a different primary color. |
|
Place the houses on a felt board (a piece of cardboard
covered with felt) |
|
Recite the following poem with your child. Have him
place the appropriate houses on the board in a circle
as they are mentioned in the poem.

Yellow house, yellow house what do you see?
I see a green house next to me.
