BLUE BIRD PUPPET
- Using the large or medium pattern, cut birds from blue
paper.
- Punch out on eye with a hole punch or have your children
make an eye with a black marking pen.
- Have your children cover the bottom of the bird with glue
and place on some blue feathers
- Tape or glue tongue depressors or craft sticks onto the
back of the bird for a stick handle.
- Let your children use their puppets while you sing songs
about Spring

BIRD IN A NEST

Cut birds out of brown construction paper. |
 |
Have your children glue the bird in the nest. |
|
Next, have them spread glue on the rest of the
nest and add items to complete their nests, such as:
- Brown shredded paper
- Small brown yarn pieces
- Small brown twigs
- Straw, hay or grass

FLYING BIRDS
- Using the large bird pattern, cut birds out of light weight
cardboard for your children.
- Next, cut a 3" slit across the middle of each bird.
- Give your children a 6" square of paper such as,
tissue paper, thin construction paper, etc. Have them fold
their paper accordion style.
- Then have them, stick their folded paper through the slit
in their bird creating wings on their bird.
- These birds look great hung from the ceiling on strings
or outside hung from trees.
WING ALTERNATIVE:
- Another way to make bird wings is to give your children
2 - 3" paper circles and have them fold their circles
in half.
- Then, have them glue half of a circle on each side of
their bird, with the other half sticking out for wings.
